“… an excellent resource for colleagues and clients, John constantly seeks to gain the highest level of understanding in any given topic so that he may guide others.”
John G. Clay is the firm’s Director of Assurance Services. He has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on working with a wide variety of closely-held businesses. He has provided services to manufacturers, professional service contractors, construction contractors, and not-for-profit organizations during his career, including performing audits, reviews, compilations, business income tax planning and preparation, valuation, and consulting services. His audit experience includes managing audits of construction contractors with up to $400 million in revenue and audits of not-for-profit organizations such as a national charitable organization with over $36 million in revenue but additionally includes smaller entities.
Banks and other financial statement users turn to John and his team with confidence, often referring their own clients to a firm that can be trusted. In fact, John’s number-one responsibility is internal and firmwide, dealing with the assurance practice, ensuring that all firm members meet professional standards, protect the firm and its clients, educate firm members, and work on efficiencies and effectiveness Lanigan Ryan provides.
John is also a good listener. Whatever keeps his clients up at night or creates anxiety, John communicates with them and then works to find the answers they need.
John enjoys his outdoor activities and is passionate about motorsports, especially autocrossing. He and his wife recently bought a travel-trailer as a new way to go camping and take vacations with his family.
