30 Highlights From Our 30th Year in Business

This past year was chock full of community and exciting firm happenings. What did we get into during our 30th year in business? See below for a list of some of our favorite memories from this past year:

  1. We unveiled our new website.
  2. We launched our new brand.
  3. We were named on Inside Public Accounting’s “Top 400 Firms” List.
  4. Partner Chris Mathews, CPA joined our leadership team.
  5. Over $10,000 was raised for Madison House Autism Foundation and Manna Food Center as beneficiaries of the 2021 Lanigan Ryan Golf for Charity tournament.
  6. We addressed the upcoming lease accounting standards.
  7. We passed our 2020 Peer Review.
  8. We migrated to an enhanced tax preparation platform.
  9. 100 lbs of food was donated to Manna Food Center through our Golf for Charity Food Drive.
  10. We gathered and used feedback from our extended network in the firm’s strategic planning of future priorities.
  11. We tracked the changes to applicable federal, state, and local tax deadlines and tax laws, ensuring client information was submitted timely.
  12. Partnering with friends, we presented information on maximizing business value and the key components of a successful business sale.
  13. We celebrated internal promotions and our team members that passed the CPA exam.

  15. We delved into the revamped eligibility rules of the PPP loans and employee retention credit.
  16. We found creative ways to revel in each other’s company – from internal virtual white elephant gift exchanges, virtual buddy lunches, and virtual bingo games to external zoom happy hours with clients and friends.
  17. We commemorated the official 30th anniversary of our firm and the legacy of our three founders.
  18. The Lanigan Ryan women’s group provided training on enhancing communication skills and setting priorities to firm members.
  19. The internal “Tax Tuesday” team met and shared the latest updates to tax law and their impact on application.
  20. We welcomed enthusiastic new members to the team.
  21. We cheered on winners and nominees of the annual SECAF Government Contractor Awards.
  22. Lanigan Ryan team members bonded over drives at the TopGolf driving range to mark the end of busy season.
  23. We connected with CPA-hopefuls at MD and VA colleges and universities.
  24. New homes were found for our old logo’d swag – donating mugs, clothes, bags, and more to local homeless shelters and other local nonprofits.
  25. Our back-to-school drive for local Veirs Mill Elementary School sent boxes of supplies to students and teachers starting the new school year.
  26. We celebrated AGN International Women of Impact Award Finalist Jennifer Montoya.
  27. We implemented a new platform as an internal knowledge-sharing/training platform to help our team grow and develop.
  28. We upgraded our phone system.
  29. We instituted a new internal company store and award program to reward and recognize our internal stars.
  30. We reflected with gratitude on the vast support we’ve received from clients, friends and family throughout our firm’s 30-year journey.
